The Bloch ribbon, in fluorescent orange.

The GnB-SMH identity comes from the Bloch Inc wordmark: the same geometric letters, and the same gesture of curved strokes turning into ribbons. Bloch paints them lime; GnB-SMH paints them fluorescent orange, on black.

All marks are outlines and need no font installed. Use the copy buttons to take any version as SVG; the full kit ships separately with PNG, favicon and social-card files.

Construction

Two ribbons and a bar

Only the n and the B carry ribbons, the same two letter shapes that carry them in Bloch Inc. G, S, M and H stay white.

n

The n

The arch and right leg become a ribbon, lit on the crest and folded where it leaves the stem. The stem picks up the colour at the top and fades to white. The n is the “and” in Gödel and Bell, so it is also the monogram.

B

The B

The upper bowl is a solid ribbon. A translucent tail sweeps from the foot of the stem into the waist, as in the Bloch Inc B. The hyphen in GnB-SMH is a solid fluorescent bar.

Colour

Black, white, fluorescent orange

Fluorescent orange marks the one thing that matters in a view. It is never used for paragraphs. On screen it is #FF5F15; in print, use a fluorescent orange spot ink, because CMYK cannot reproduce it.

Usage

Space, size and limits

Do

  • Keep clear space around the wordmark equal to the height of its G.
  • Use the ribbon wordmark at 160 px wide or more; below that, use the flat wordmark.
  • Use the monogram for icons down to 48 px and the flat favicon below 48 px.
  • Put the colour wordmark on black, or on photography darkened to near black.

Don't

  • Recolour the ribbons, or use the Bloch lime anywhere in GnB-SMH.
  • Add ribbons to G, S, M or H.
  • Put the gradient wordmark on light grounds; use the On white version.
  • Stretch, outline, shadow or rotate the marks.
